Calculus: Early Transcendentals 9th edition by James Stewart.

Students shall make adjustments with regard to page numbers, chapter numbers, and content if using an earlier edition.

Course description

Analysis of the elementary real functions: algebraic, trigonometric, exponential and their inverses and composites. Topics include limits, continuity, asymptotes, the definition of the derivative, and derivative rules for algebraic, trigonometric, exponential, and logarithms. We study implicit differentiation, related rates, linear approximation, differentials, the mean value theorem, maxima and minima, curve sketching, and L’Hospital’s rule.
