Travel:

Rochester is served by a medium-sized airport and a train station (note: train service from Toronto is good). The airport is about 2 miles from campus and the train station is about 4 miles away. There are various interstates that pass near to campus. See the map page for details.

On the weekend, the campus is open for parking wherever you like. See the map page for details.

Taxis in Rochester
To/from the airport: The minimum fare for a taxi to and from the airport is $10 and the usual fare to the Staybridge or UofR is $12. It is a 5 minute drive between the airport and the Staybridge or UofR. There is a taxi stand at the airport. For ordering taxis to the airport, call 585 235-3333.
General purposes: For general taxis, there are many taxi companies. It is best to consult with your hotel for the reliable ones. If you are at a restaurant or bar downtown, ask them to call you a taxi. Here are some taxi companies I and others have used that are reliable are: Checker Cab (585) 325-2460, MK Taxi (driver is Mike) (585) 738-3390, US Express Taxi (driver is Yemane) (585) 503-1234.
Arriving by train: There is usually a long line of taxis in front of the train station even at night. However, you may wish to reserve from one one of the taxis above, once you know what time your train is arriving.
